Baylor Midnight Madness: Brittney Griner 360 and Deuce Bello Dunks Over 7 Footer

Baylor coach Scott Drew has enjoyed some previously unprecedented success with the Bears’ mens basketball program during his tenure, primarily because he has parlayed being one of the nation’s best recruiters into deep NCAA Tournament success.

Although Baylor just lost 3 players to the NBA in Quincy Miller, Quincy Acy, and Perry Jones III, they bring in a potential one-and-done 7 foot freshman in Isaiah Austin and return arguably one of the most potent back-courts in the nation with Pierre Jackson, AJ Walton, Brady Heislip, and Deuce Bello.

While Bello entered college universally known as one of  the HS ranks’ best dunkers ever, the diminutive Jackson surprised everyone last year at this time by winning the 2011 Moonlight Madness Dunk Contest.

In 2012’s Moonlight Madness, the nation’s #1 womens player Brittney Griner was a contestant in the annual dunk contest, showing off an impressive 360, then Bello amazingly dunked over 7’1 freshman Isaiah Austin, before Corey Jefferson took home the winning trophy for a near free throw line jam and a behind the back pass off the backboard one-hander…
