Here at TheHoopDoctors.com, we love highlight reel dunkers. Before sensational rookie Blake Griffin jumped over a car this past season, the NBA’s Annual Sprite Slam Dunk Contest had been reduced to barely watchable television as Nate Robinson needed 8 tries to yet again finish off his now infamous Krypto-Nate dunks to win 3 Dunk Contest crowns.
What ever happened to Michael Jordan or Julius Erving taking off from the foul line or Vince Carter finishing off an Eastbay and telling everyone that the dunk contest is over? To get to the point, the current crop of streetball dunkers like T-Dub, Air Up There, and Kenny Dobbs are way more entertaining than their NBA dunking counterparts.
While Kenny Dobbs is setting the internet ablaze by trying to become the first dunk artist to surpass 1,000,000 YouTube hits in one year since his mixtape came out and T-Dub continually upping the bar by adding on to his famous 540 dunks, Ball Up’s Air Up There is making a push to take home the crown as best dunker ever with his newest mixtape showcasing his high flying skills.
Air Up There, aka Mr 720, has got major ups but is he on par with the universally regarded world’s best dunker Kadour Ziani?
