NBA Lays Off More Than 100 Employees

We knew this day was a possibility. With business suspended due to the lockout, revenue generation has been suspended as well. Because of this, the League has been forced to lay off employees. The NBA says it’s not directly related to the lockout, but it surely has an impact.

The NBA has laid off about 114 people over the last two days, planned cost-cutting moves that a league spokesman says are “not a direct result of the lockout.”

The laid off employees represent about 11 percent of the league office workforce in New York, New Jersey and internationally.

Here’s more info about these lay offs via AP on SportsIllustrated.com.
