Kyle Lowry’s Ankle Injury May Keep Him From Playing Against Cavaliers in Game 3

The Toronto Raptors are in a good deal of trouble, and not just because they’ve yet again fallen into a 2-0 series hole against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Kyle Lowry, who injured his ankle in the second of half Game 2, may not be ready to rock by the tip off of Game 3:

Lowry almost immediately returned once he left the action on Wednesday night. He was noticeably impeded while moving on the court, both laterally and vertically, yet he contended he would be ready to go for Game 3.

Players may claim to know their bodies better than the doctors, but they don’t. That said, Lowry will probably play. It’s the playoffs, and he won’t want to watch his team get crushed from the sidelines without him.

And make no mistake, that’s exactly what will happen. Lowry has been shooting better this series, and unlike DeMar DeRozan, he can impact the game in a good way even when his shot isn’t falling. There’s no way Toronto, already in what might be an inescapable grave, pull out a Game 3 win without one of its best two-way player.
