Tony Allen Questionable for Game 5 With Sore Hamstring

tonyallenWith just a few hours remaining before game five, the Grizzlies will look to redeem themselves from a crushing 101-84 defeat back in game four against the Warriors by returning the favor.

Unfortunately, they might have to do this without one of their key players and premiere defender Tony Allen, who is ailing with a hamstring injury—that he likely suffered during game four—may force him to sit out for game five, per Ronald Tillery of the Commercial Appeal:

This is certainly not a good sign for the Grizzlies.

Despite Allen’s inconsistency in knocking down open jumpers, he’s still one of their best on ball and perimeter defenders and has done a tremendous job at stopping and frustrating the Warrior’s main offensive weapons, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson all series long (aside from game four).

If Allen does sit out and the Grizzlies don’t make the necessary adjustments at the defensive end, it won’t be surprising if we witness a huge scoring performance from Curry or Thompson, which could eventually win them the game at the perimeter.
