Steven Adams Out at Least 3 Weeks Following Hand Injury

adamsoutBecause the entire team hasn’t been together and healthy for the majority of the season, the OKC Thunder are in danger of missing the playoffs. And with each passing loss, their hopes look less and less likely as they currently sit in 10th place in the West.

Yesterday, those chances took another hit as Steven Adam broke his hand in the second half. It was so bad that he had to shoot free throws with his left hand.

Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams is expected to miss at least the next three weeks after undergoing surgery to repair the fourth metacarpal in his right hand, the team announced.

The team said he will be re-evaluated in three weeks.

Adams was injured in the second quarter of Sunday’s 131-108 win over the Los Angeles Clippers after being fouled on a rebound attempt. He was forced the shoot the ensuing free throws with his left hand. He played 12 minutes and scored five points before leaving the game with the injury.
