Ever since the explosion of ‘Linsanity’ back in 2012 with the New York Knicks—Jeremy Lin hasn’t been able to live up to that kind of performance. After his short stint with the Houston Rockets and currently this season with the Los Angeles Lakers, he’s still trying to recreate the magic he had in the Garden.
In his first 30 games of this season, Lin is only averaging 10.5 points and 4.7 assists per contest while playing just under 27 minutes. He had a handful of decent offensive outputs in some games, but then was also virtually undetectable in many. Clearly, consistency has been a big reason for Lin’s recent struggles, but the million dollar question is whether or not he is able to regain the form we saw a few years ago in New York.
However, on Sunday night in their loss against the Phoenix Suns—Lin talked about his performance and how he believes that he hasn’t reached his full potential in the NBA, via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Certainly it’s good to hear from Lin himself that he still has more to offer, yet a lot to figure out in terms of getting back to a higher level of play. He lost his starting position to Ronnie Price earlier this season, but as long as he improves Byron Scott is the type of coach that rewards improvement and work ethic. That should open the door for a reemergence of Lin in a starting role later in the season.
