After their loss to the Toronto Raptors Wednesday night, the Memphis Grizzlies have to deal with significant loss of players for their game versus the Boston Celtics on Friday. Almost half of their roster will likely be forced to sit out this game as seven of their players are battling a stomach virus, reports the Associated Press:
Seven members of the Grizzlies are dealing with a stomach virus and their status is uncertain for Friday’s game with the Boston Celtics.
The Grizzlies announced Thursday that guards Tony Allen, Courtney Lee and Beno Udrih, forwards Jon Leuer and Jarnell Stokes, center Kosta Koufosand guard/forward Quincy Pondexter have been hit with the virus and are questionable for the Boston game.
Lee and Stokes are new additions to the injury list. The other five players didn’t play in a 96-92 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday due to their illnesses.
The Grizzlies record wise, are the best in the west right now at 10-2, and with almost half of the roster possibly sitting out their game against the Celtics—it wouldn’t be a surprise if they end up losing this one.
