In their match against the Charlotte Hornets last night, the New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony nailed a three-pointer at exactly the 7:41 mark of the first quarter which made him the newest member to join the 20,000-point club. He’s also the 6th youngest player to ever reach the milestone in NBA history.
The Knicks immediately congratulated him with this remarkable accomplishment via twitter:

Anthony, 30, has certainly solidified himself as one of the league’s elite scorers throughout the years, and that’s something which can never be taken away from him. He’s now the 40th player in league history to reach the 20,000 mark and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he ends up in the top 10 list before he retires.
In just a few more games, he’ll most probably pass Antawn Jamison (20, 042) and Tom Chambers (20,049).
Now with Melo arguably in the prime of his career, we may be seeing another dominant season for him offensively and their head coach Derek Fisher will try his best to utilize him through the renowned triangle system.
So far in his first three games, he’s been averaging 22.3 points per game for the Knicks as they continue to familiarize themselves in their new offense every game and it’s going to be just a matter of time before they finally get a full grasp of it.
And once they do—expect the Knicks to be a legitimate dark horse to rise above in the east. But for now, the key for them is to remain patient.
