Lakers’ PG Steve Nash Hurts His Back Again

nashbackstretchJust when we all thought we’ll be seeing a healthy Steve Nash this upcoming season—the two-time MVP recently hurt his back as he reportedly heard a “tweak” while carrying his bags, according to league sources.

From Mike Bresnahan of the LA Times:

Nash,40, has been dealing with back issues throughout his seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers which is quite unfortunate as a lot of fans will surely miss his presence in the league—if he decides to retire right after this season. In the preseason games, he was able to play respectable amount of minutes and showcased remnants of his old self. But now with this latest setback, we may be seeing another quiet year for the veteran point guard.

For sure, we’ll be seeing more minutes from Jeremy Lin for the Lakers and he may eventually become the permanent starting point guard this season. Certainly, this is such a sad see a player like him going down like this. All that he and the basketball world could ask for is for Nash to have a proper and well-deserved ending in his decorated career.

Please get well soon, Steve.
