There is one less coaching vacancy in the NBA as of Tuesday afternoon.
The Charlotte Hornets have decided to hire former Spurs assistant coach James Borrego as their new head coach.

Borrego has been an assistant under Popovich since 2015 after serving as the Magic’s interim head coach for part of the 2014-15 season.
He will come into a difficult situation with a mediocre team at best that currently has no real cap flexibility at the moment to improve and only one desirable trade asset in Kemba Walker.
The problem with Walker is that he is under a below market value contract for one more season and is currently their best player by a mile.
It will be interesting to see which direction new general manager Mitch Kupchak and head coach James Borrego will attempt to take the franchise moving forward.
