Tristan Thompson to Miss Month with Calf Injury

The 2017-18 season has not been good to the Cleveland Cavaliers thus far. Losers of four straight and currently sporting a 3-5 record, the 29th rated defense in the NBA thus far just lost their best defender for a month.

According to The Vertical, the Cavs expect center Tristan Thompson to miss a month of action after the calf injury he suffered in the game against the Pacers Wednesday night.

Thompson had been struggling thus far this season (like every other Cavalier not named LeBron James or Kevin Love), but the Cavaliers are already light on front court players who can defend and protect the rim at any level so this could add injury to their insulting 3-5 record so far.

The Cavaliers still have plenty of time to mesh and gel and will likely have Thompson back in 12 to 15 games or so. I have faith LeBron James and the talent that they have will figure out how to play and succeed with one another and be humming along by the time Isaiah Thomas returns in 2018.

The Cavaliers have very little in the way of movable assets to improve, but look for them to try and acquire a rim protecting center or another perimeter defender in the coming weeks.

Tyson Chandler or Bismack Biyombo maybe?
