The past few years have been rough for Brandon Knight. Formerly a top five recruit in the country in his high school class of 2010, the No. 8 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft for the Detroit Pistons and once seen as the point guard of the future for the Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks, Knight is now seen as a guy with one of the worst contracts in the NBA and zero trade value for the Phoenix Suns after having the worst season of his career in 2016-17.
Unfortunately it appears he won’t have the chance to make up for that next season. According to a tweet from Adrian Wojnarowski, Knight has reportedly suffered a torn ACL while working out in his native Florida during the off-season.

The bad luck continues in what is shaping up to be a tragic story for what was once a promising young career in the NBA.
Knight played by far the worst basketball of his career last season, averaging 11 points, 2.4 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 21.1 minutes per game in only 54 appearances on a paltry 39.8% shooting from the field.
Knight lost all confidence after being asked to come off of the bench in favor of budding star Devin Booker and was essentially benched after the trade deadline last season when the Suns were unable to move him even for a 2nd round pick.
He is still owed $45 million over the next three seasons of a five year, $70 million deal he signed with Phoenix in 2015.
Still only 25, one can only hope things can start to turn around for a talented and skilled scoring guard in Knight.
