According to a report from the Associated Press Monday evening, the Detroit Pistons appear to have an agreement to move from the Palace at Auburn Hills to a new arena in downtown Detroit for the 2017-18 season.

The Pistons will be joining the Detroit Red Wings in the new Little Caesars Arena, this will be the franchise’s first time playing in downtown Detroit in 40 years.
Although the decision may be a savvy one and the location will be much more ideal for Pistons fans in the heart of Detroit, The Palace has been a special place for the franchise since they moved there in 1998.
The Pistons won the NBA title their first two seasons in the arena as well as in 2004 and played in another NBA Finals in 2005.
You can expect the franchise to do something special for the arena and community as their time there winds down in the 2016-17 season.
