Ayesha Curry Burns LeBron James’ ‘High Road’ Bridge to the Ground on Twitter

Someone get LeBron James an icepack.

He just got burned by pretty much all of the Golden State Warriors. But that was expected. Less expected was the hail of fire and brimstone sent his way by Ayesha Curry, the wife of two-time MVP Stephen Curry.

Let’s start at the beginning.

Draymond Green is suspended for Game 5 of the NBA Finals after he was retroactively assessed a Flagrant 1 for targeting LeBron’s groin, which he did following James’ decision to step over him. The Warriors, naturally, are pretty pissed. Things have been said. Conspiracies about LeBron’s true intentions abound.

What triggered perhaps the most unexpected burn of the pack, though, was this from Klay Thompson, per ESPN.com’s Brian Windhorst:

“Guys talk trash in this league all the time. I’m just kind of shocked some guys take it so personal,” Thompson said. “I don’t know how [James] feels. But obviously people have feelings, and people’s feelings get hurt even if they’re called a bad word. I guess his feelings just got hurt. I mean, we’ve all been called plenty of bad words on the basketball court before. Some guys just react to it differently.”

James didn’t exactly laugh off Thompson’s sentiments. But he did laugh:

“My goodness. I’m not going to comment on what Klay said, because I know where it can go from this sit-in,” James said. “It’s so hard to take the high road. I’ve been doing it for 13 years. It’s so hard to continue to do it, and I’m going to do it again.”

Word of advice to all you wannabe high-road travelers: Acknowledging that you’re taking the high road, or that you’re notorious for heading down such a path, actually infers the opposite.

And as it turns out, Mrs. Curry feels the same way:

Touche, Ayesha. Touche.

This series, despite lacking competition in its score (3-1) just keeps getting better every time one refreshes his or her Twitter timeline.
