Yesterday was a rare good day for the Sacramento Kings franchise as they had a big celebration featuring front office personnel, players, former players and fans to celebrate a “New Era of Proud” by unveiling their new logo and branding. The logo is a sleek and visually appealing reference to the Kings past while launching them into their future in their new arena.
Of course those normal and professional vibes are already gone today and the bizarre nature of the franchise for the past 10-12 years has returned. It was reported today that the Kings are offering to pay for a select few fans to get the new Kings logo tattooed on them.
This is a line. For #NewEraOfProud tattoos. Amazing. pic.twitter.com/kSHq7o5hyH

The free tattoos will only be offered to a select number of people at five tattoo parlors outlined by the Kings.
One super fan has already beaten these freeloaders to the punch:

I will admit that this is a fun and outside of the box idea, but we’re talking about the most poorly run and indecisive franchise in the NBA offering a permanent tattoo for free to fans. There is some inherent irony and humor involved here.
Kudos to any fan that is willing to brand their team’s logo on them, especially for a team that hasn’t seen the postseason in a decade. Let’s just hope for their sake that the Kings don’t undergo another brand update in the next three to four years.
