Carter-Williams averaged 11.5 points, 5.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds in 54 games for the Bucks this season.
After taking the NBA by storm his rookie season and being en route to winning the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 2013-14, Carter-Williams’ inability to protect the ball or develop an NBA caliber jump shot have caused teams and executives to cool on the potential of MCW. He is no longer viewed as the future star he once was.
An overachieving Bucks team that was 31-23 heading into the 2015 trade deadline last season has been just 36-55 since trading Brandon Knight as part of a deal that landed them Carter-Williams.
This is another set back for a player who has seen his value drop this past year. It will be interesting to see if Carter-Williams is still in a Milwaukee Bucks uniform when he returns to action in 2016-17.
Expect Jerryd Bayless to be the one to benefit the most from this injury as he will be replacing him for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.
