With the Sacramento Kings 116-114 win over the Thunder in Oklahoma City Monday night, George Karl acquired his 1,156th career coaching victory.
This put him ahead of the Zen Master himself, Phil Jackson, for 5th on the all-time list.

Karl has never won an NBA title in his six coaching stops including Cleveland, Golden State, Seattle, Milwaukee, Denver and now Sacramento, but has made it to one NBA Finals with his most memorable team the 1995-96 Seattle Sonics, which featured Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp and won 64 games during the regular season before losing to the Chicago Bulls for the NBA title.
Depending on how long Karl coaches he may have a shot pass up Pat Riley and Jerry Sloan who have 1,210 and 1,221 careers win respectively, 54 and 63 more wins than Karl.
