With six points in the Clippers 103-90 win over the Bucks in Los Angeles Wednesday night, Paul Pierce became the 16th player in NBA history to reach 26,000 points for their career. Earlier this season his former teammate Kevin Garnett became the 15th player in NBA history to reach the milestone.
Congratulations to The Truth! @PaulPierce34 recorded his 26,000th career point with this basket.

Paul Pierce is only the third former Celtic to reach that milestone along with Garnett and John Havlicek and is only the third small forward in NBA history to accomplish this prestigious feat along with Havlicek and Dominique Wilkins.
Considering his incredible longevity, status as an NBA champion and NBA Finals MVP and his 26,000 career points, 7,000 career rebounds and 4,0000 career assists Pierce is a surefire hall of fame player.
Paul Pierce has adjusted well and accepted his role as a role player and mentor in Washington and now Los Angeles these past couple seasons (unlike another aging hall of famer playing in LA) and will more than likely hang it up after this season.

The next two players who will reach the 26,000 career points plateau are LeBron James, who is currently only 508 points away and will do it later this season at the age of 31, and Carmelo Anthony, who has 21,467 points after Wednesday night’s game.
