The Orlando Magic hasn’t been doing well this season. Currently 15-34 this season, they’re in 13th place in the Eastern Conference and improvements are needed post-haste to turn things around before the summer break if they hope to be an attractive landing spot for available talent.
Reports have been swirling that their current head coach—Jacque Vaughn is under fire, and the team feels him walking out the door may help the team re-focus for the remainder of the season.

This Magic team is definitely full of talent and oozing potential; however, the brass feel they haven’t been properly utilized in Vaughn’s system. Nikola Vucevic is arguably one of the best centers in the league now and their young guns such as Victor Oladipo, Elfrid Payton, and Tobias Harris are really very capable offensively. It’s just a matter of time and the proper coaching to be able to hone and develop their respective skills as players and chemistry as a team.
Despite their terrible record, they are just 5.5 games behind the eighth seed and have enough time to make a run for it in the second half of the season. If Vaughn does head out the door, whoever the Magic chosse as his replacement will be under pressure to make a run at a playoff birth in the weak Eastern Conference. Their livelihood may even depend on it.
