The NBA has announced today that the Sacramento Kings have filed a protest regarding their controversial 111-110 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on November 13 at the FedEx forum.
With 0.3 seconds left in the game, Vince Carter through the inbound pass to Courtney Lee, which led to a buzzer-beating layup that sealed the game for the Grizzlies. The Kings blew a 26-point lead prior to this shot.
See for yourself:
According to the Kings, the shot by Lee should have not been counted at all, as it appeared in the replay that their center Ryan Hollins, who was guarding Vince Carter on the inbounds play, deflected the ball first, which should have immediately started the clock.
Both teams will have the opportunity to submit evidence that supports their positions on the play in questions and the league shall give its ruling regarding this by Dec. 2.
