Kobe To Sit Out Last 2 Preseason Games

kobesitWith the new season just around the corner, the Los Angeles Lakers have decided to sit out their 36-year-old superstar Kobe Bryant for the rest of their scheduled games in the preseason, according to Mark Medina of the LA Daily News.

The Lakers will be facing the Portland Trailblazers tonight in Ontario and the Sacramento Kings on Friday in Las Vegas, which will serve as resting time for Kobe.

Throughout the preseason, he has not suffered any injuries but the team want to take any chances no more for any unwanted setback for him especially considering that this will be his 18th season in the league. The next 2 games will provide the Kobe more time to fully charge himself before the beginning of the season next week on Tuesday versus the visiting Houston Rockets.

In Kobe’s six preseason games—he’s averaged 19.4 points on 38% shooting while playing just under 27 minutes per game.

And while Bryant will be sitting out the next two games, newly-acquired veteran guard Wayne Ellington will take his place in the starting lineup.
