With just about a week before the start of training camp, the Los Angeles Lakers have officially signed another new face into the team—free agent guard Wayne Ellington.
Ellington, 26, was the 28th overall pick back in 2009 who’s quite known for his long-range shooting. But, he was never able to fully exhibit his talent at the NBA level which really lowered his market value. Last season, he played a total of 45 games for the Dallas Mavericks and only averaged 3.2 points per game due to limited playing time.

The contract is only partially guaranteed, according to Mark Medina of the LA Daily News:
Wayne Ellington's contract is partially guaranteed. Lakers will likely have 19 or 20 players for training camp roster

The Lakers will be the fifth team he’s played for in his career and it’ll be another opportunity for him to prove his real worth as a professional player. Byron Scott will most probably use him from time to time as Xavier Henry may take more time to fully recover.
LaLa Land certainly needs all the help they can get from their players this coming season. If Ellington shines bright this coming season—it could mean a few more wins for the team.
So far, Ellington has averaged 6.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists in his five-year career.
