With the departure of forward Trevor Ariza, the Wizards quickly reacted to by signing Pierce. At the age of 36, Father Time is indeed beginning to catch up on him, but he can still certainly provide a much-needed veteran presence and championship experience which they significantly lacked last season.
Wizards finally made it back again to playoffs last season, before getting eliminated in the second round. But now with the Truth part of their roster, we can expect better execution from them especially down the stretch of every game.
Pierce has a player option in the second year of his new contract.
