With the departure of their big man Pau Gasol, the Los Angeles Lakers are clearly in dire need of a big man into their small roster, and it looks like Mitch Kuptchak found a quality replacement whose name is Ed Davis.
The 6-foot-10 power forward will be playing for the purple and gold franchise in the upcoming regular season, with an agreed two-year, $2 million contract, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

Davis, 25, averaged 5.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game, while only playing at least 15 minutes for the Memphis Grizzlies last season. He served as a backup for all-star Zach Randolph, which significantly limited his chances to display his full potential.
But now with a new chance to redeem himself from last season, he will try to make the most out of this opportunity, by providing a much-needed solid presence down the paint for the Lakers.
Davis was selected by the Toronto Raptors as the 13th overall pick in 2010.
