Almost two years ago, adidas made the decision to take their “all in” moniker heart by locking then-premiere NBA point guard Derrick Rose to a lifetime sneaker endorsement contract. With the 2011 NBA MVP out of the Chicago Bulls active roster again with an injury, adidas keeps the ball rolling with a new, high-performance basketball sneaker inspired by Derrick Rose; the adidas D Rose 4.5.
Since dropping the adiZero title for the more-personal ‘D Rose’ title, adidas has encountered terrible publicity with the notion that the injuries that has plagued Derrick Rose might in any way be linked to the sneakers. THIS IS FALSE. It physically isn’t possible.
Damian Lillard has since been the face of the D Rose signature sneaker series for over a year now after performing very well in the adidas Rose 773, adiZero Rose 2.5, D Rose 3, D Rose 3.5, and the current D Rose 4 throughout his blossoming career. Lillard’s rookie season was so packed with different Derrick Rose sneakers that we did a list highlighting the better ones.
Already released in China, the first three colorways of the adidas D Rose 4.5 makes its debut in the US on January 30th for $140.
