Apparently Hall of Fame forward Larry Bird is in it for the long haul this time as President of Basketball Operations with the Indiana Pacers as he has recently put up his Naples, Florida waterfront mansion for sale.
The nearly 6,000 square foot luxury home was his home away from home after taking a year-long sabbatical for health reasons from the Pacers, but now that he is back at the helm of the Pacers, “Larry Legend” is selling his vacation home for a cool $4.8 million.
According to the listing, the Birds have had multiple homes in the swanky Naples area of Florida since 1993 until buying the current property in 1998 for what now seems like a steal of $875,000.
Bird later tore down the existing structure in 2001, before building the custom waterfront property now for sale overlooking the beautiful Venetian Bay.
The custom home boasts 4 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, gourmet indoor kitchen, private home theater, huge saltwater aquarium, and a private outdoor villa that includes another outdoor kitchen, tiki hut, and luxurious pool leading up to the bay.
But if you plan on making an offer, keep in mind the property taxes cost the Birds more than $32,000 last year.
