Tonight in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, the Heat found themselves down big near the beginning of the fourth quarter. While the Heat were in the midst of a big comeback, Mike Miller lost his shoe. But that didn’t slow him down from making cuts on offense in his sock.
This is either going to end really bad, or really well right? Well fortunately for Miller he found himself open on the perimeter and didn’t hesitate when he received a pass to launch a huge momentum swinging three pointer for the Heat. Again, in his sock.
The weirdest part about the play however was that an almost identical situation happened to the Heat’s Miller last year in the playoffs against the Pacers. He lost his right shoe then too, and instead of stopping to put it on, he threw it into the crowd and played a couple possessions in his sock.
I think there is a lesson to be learned here. And it’s not that Miller shoots well in one shoe. It’s that he needs to tie his shoes a bit tighter.
Nice shot though. Focus.
