Tom Thibodeau Fined $35K For Criticizing Refs

Being on the losing end of a tough playoff game has to very frustrating for a coach. Down 2-1 to the Heat, Tom Thibodeau of the Bulls was fed up following game 3. After Nazr Mohammed was ejected for showing LeBron, Thibs sounded off in the post-game presser.

Tom felt as if LeBron flopped and the Heat are getting all the calls.

“From my angle, I just saw a guy basically flop, you know, and I’m going to leave it at that. When you play them, you have to have a lot of mental, physical and emotional toughness. And things aren’t going to go your way. That’s the way it is. We’re not going to get calls. That’s reality. We still have to find a way to get it done. And we can.”

“We’re well aware of what’s going on,” Thibodeau said Friday. “I’m watching how things are going. I watch very closely. What I’m seeing is … we’ll adjust accordingly.”

The list of coaches that complain about officiating is growing and so are the fines. From an NBA standpoint, you understand why the fines are being given out because it doesn’t help the leagues image when Thibs all but implies the refs are siding with the Heat.

The league fined him $35,000 for “comments made about the officiating following the Bulls 104-94 loss to the Heat.”, according to USA Today.
