This one is a slam dunk. No pun intended. From the very beginning of the season, Portland’s Damian Lillard looked as if he belonged. You knew he had to be special since the Blazers took him in the lottery from a mid-major. And he has never disappointed.
Although Portland missed the playoffs, they have a great deal to be excited about with Lillard at the helm. He is reportedly set to be announced as the NBA’s Rookie of the Year today. Definitely well deserved.
The Trail Blazers announced today that there will be a “major” announcement Wednesday at 4pm at the Rose Garden. Based on the tweet from the Trail Blazers official account one can assume this will be the announcement of Damian Lillard as the Rookie of the Year:
“We’ve got a big announcement to make tomorrow morning, we’ll give you one guess but you’ll only need #0”
