NBA Will Not Fine or Suspend Bulls’ Nazr Mohammed

After Nazr Mohammed shoved Lebron James in chest and he stumbled back and hit the court, the Bulls were immediately telling the refs he flopped. It was an after the play altercation, clearly not a wise move by Mohammed, who as a veteran should have known better, give Lebron had already been called for the technical foul on the preceding play.

As it turns out, the NBA announced yesterday it will not be taking further action against Nazr Mohammed in the form of fines or suspensions for his actions in the incident:

Mohammed himself has admitted his mistake in the situation and just wants to move on, as the play has been poured over by the media with a fine tooth comb:

I’m trying to move on from that,” Mohammed said. “I think I talked pretty long and I waited for you guys and kind of explained everything the other night. I don’t want to keep dragging it on, dragging it on. I mean, I think I covered everything.

“You were there the whole time … take it for what I covered. I don’t really want to keep dwelling on it. I’m just getting myself prepared to play tomorrow.

“We have to defend our home court. They took back home-court advantage by coming in our gym and winning, and the most important thing is to win tomorrow.” (via)

The NBA probably made the right call by not further exacerbating the situation, and the ‘conspiracy’ theories the Bulls have already planted in the public’s mind. It has not just been about whether or not Lebron flopped, Bulls Coach Thibodeau and many players have been talking up the fact that Miami is getting a lot more calls from the officials than the Bulls.

This series has been a dog fight thus far. Game 5 should be no different.
