I’m starting to get the feeling that the Boston Celtics have figured out that talking about Carmelo Anthony’s wife La La Vasquez, and claiming infidelity, gets under his skin. We all know about the Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony feud during the season after Garnett told ‘Melo his wife ‘tastes like honey nut cheerios‘. But last night Celtics Jordan Crawford had words for ‘Melo about his wife following the game which led to a small scuffle that was quickly broken up. Peep the replay, and try to read his lips….”That Muthaf&$ka f&*$ed Your Wife!”
Clearly the Celtics are trying to get under ‘Melo’s skin and it’s working. The Knicks need to get better offensive efficiency from Carmelo and JR Smith if they want to close out the Celtics on the road.
Something that bothers me about Crawford’s comments though are the unprofessional nature of his words. When guys like Jordan and Reggie used to trash talk opponents they would tell them all the ways they were going to score on them etc. But were they talkin’ about a guy’s wife? And besides that point, who is Jordan Crawford to be talking to Carmelo Anthony? You’re a nobody (in comparison). The only reason anyone even knows his name is because he once dunked on Lebron at a Nike camp as a collegiate player, and Nike confiscated the tape.
‘Melo’s response should have been, “even if my wife stepped out, it sure as hell wouldn’t have been with your ass” and/or “don’t you keep your shoes in your fridge, dude you’re creepy”.
Garnett on the other hand….j/k.
