As we lead up to an epic Final Four this weekend in Atlanta, several high profile coaches are in town making media appearances and doing television interviews, giving their spot on analysis and prognostications as to who will be playing for the 2013 National Title.
Current and former NCAA coaches like Bob Knight, Tom Crean, and Bruce Pearl have given their opinions on everything from the Mike Rice firing at Rutgers, to who will win NCAA National Player of the Year, and who will win Saturday evening’s matchups between Wichita State/Louisville and Syracuse/Michigan.
And as the lines between sports and the entertainment/music industry slowly but surely become blurred, as evidence of Kentucky coach John Calipari once tweeting out a pic of him at a Jay-Z concert, it came as a shock to see a pic on Twitter of legendary Michigan State head basketball coach Tom Izzo getting a big hug from Grammy winning rap artist 2 Chainz.
For those of you that didn’t know, the 6’5 Tauheed Epps, better known as 2Chainz, is an Atlanta native, and was once a promising hoops prospect who played a little ball at Alabama State back in the late 90’s.
Funny how opposites sometimes attract….
