Under Armour Spine Bionic – ‘3rd Jennings Invitational’

On Saturday, January 12 Under Armour will host the 3rd annual Brandon Jennings Invitational at Brookfield Central, HS just outside Milwaukee.  10 of the best high school teams in the country and some of the best players will be competing in a full day of action.

The Spine Bionic, which made our list of the top basketball sneakers of 2012, is the tournament sneaker chosen for the event this year.  A blue gradient is seen throughout the entire upper with the fade being most dark on the top and progressively getting lighter as you go down the shoe.  On the tongue is the new tournament logo in white to match the midsole and UA branding seen on the side.

Check the schedule below for playing times of the first round of the 3rd Brandon Jennings Invitational:

12:30 pm CST – St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, MD) vs. Bogan High School (Chicago, IL) at
2:15pm CST – Orr Academy High School (Chicago, IL) vs. Shiloh High School (Gwinnett, GA)
4:00pm CST – Minnetonka High School (Minnetonka, MN) vs. East High School (Denver, CO)
5:45pm CST – Brookfield Central High School (Brookfield, WI) vs. Chester High School (Chester, PA)
7:30pm CST – Lone Peak High School (Highland, Utah) vs. Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, NC)

This isn’t the first time a limited SMU has been made for the Brandon Jennings-hosted high school tournament.  Last year, the go-to sneaker for basketball events sponsored by Under Armour was the Bloodline, so an image of a tournament bracket was pressed on the reflective 3M strap and seen in a variety of colors depending on the event.  The 2nd Under Armour Brandon Jennings Invitational was held at Patterson High School in Baltimore so the colorway of that tournament-edition Micro G Bloodline came direction from Patterson HS school colors.

A first for the tournament, the entire event is being streamed online and can be watched HERE as well as on the Under Armour Basketball Facebook page.  Be sure to look out for Under Armour to drop the ‘3rd Jennings Inivitational’ Spine Bionic on January 12th on their webstore as well as a Charge BB with the same inspiration.
