A celebrity becoming part-owner of a professional sports franchise is very common these days. When the match makes sense, it can be a home run. Just look at Jay-Z and the Brooklyn Nets. Will Memphis native Justin Timberlake have that same impact with the Grizzlies?
Justin Timberlake might soon be a minority partner in the new ownership group of the Memphis Grizzlies, according to ESPN.com.
Robert Pera is the prospective new owner of the franchise and he has gotten the actor/singer/entertainer to join his ownership group.
Timberlake and Pera have struck up a fast friendship and Timberlake is planning on making “a meaningful investment into the team” while planning “to be active” with the Grizzlies, a source told ESPN.com.
