Throughout the course of the summer, Nike has adopted the slogan, “Basketball Never Stops.” Logic would tell you that it is directly tied to the lockout, reminding hoops fans and customers alike that although the NBA may be on hiatus, the game of basketball itself isn’t. That slogan has been seen all over the various Pro-Am/Charity games throughout the course of the summer.
Nike decided to incorporate some of their NBAers with that slogan in a slick new ad. The commercial really does a good job of displaying basketball in its purest form. Making an appearance are LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitzki, Amar’e Stoudemire, Coach K from Duke and others from outside of the basketball world. They show guys doing things that we’ve come to know them for: KD playing in a summer league game and Dirk shooting one-legged fadeaways. It’s true, basketball doesn’t stop.
