Jimmer Shows of His Shooting Range At Camp

August 2, 2011 – Allen Moll

Former BYU stand-out and this year’s NCAA leading scorer Jimmer Fredette was back in Utah recently to host his very own shooting camp for youngsters called none other than………Jimmer Camp.

Although the newest member of the Sacramento Kings has only recently achieved rock star status on and off the hardwood, he remains a very humble person and enjoys giving back to the community.

Fredette hosted a week-long camp for more than 600 campers, teaching kids the proper fundamentals that once helped turn him into the NCAA POY and NBA Lottery pick. While odds are that not many will evolve into the elite level shooter that Jimmer did, he commented many times that he enjoys teaching them the work ethic that has made him the player he is today.

After being taken by Sacramento with the #10 pick in this year’s draft then the NBA Lockout hit, Jimmer’s status is a bit up in the air heading into next season. With the lockout wiping out this year’s Summer Leagues, Jimmer will have little time to get acclimated to the NBA game.

With 2010 NBA ROY Tyreke Evans struggling in his 2nd season at the point and Beno Udrih no longer on the roster, many have tabbed Fredette as the starting point guard once the season begins. But with little time to prepare for a possibly shortened season, Jimmer has a long road ahead of him.

Judging by this video, Jimmer apparently hasn’t lost his range on his jumper during the Lockout, as he drained 3 consecutive 3/4 court shots in front of his campers……….
