Steve Nash Steals Parking Spaces and Channels Michael Jackson in New Ad

July 20, 2011 – Allen Moll

Phoenix Suns point guard Steve Nash is more than just a 2 time MVP and future NBA Hall of Famer. As one of the Association’s elder statesmen, he’s a perfect ambassador for the game as well as one of the most hilariously funny commercial pitch men off the court.

Who can forget all of those funny Dos Equis beer commercial spoofs where he stands in as the Most Ridiculous Man in the World. He even shaved his head in starring oppositeNBA legend “Dr J” Julius Erving in an old promo video for the 2007 NBA Finals.

While we can all agree that Nash stands a good chance of having a 2nd career upon retirement by using his immense comedic talents in front of the camera, his playing career is still in high gear as he led the NBA in assists per game (11.4) for the 5th time in his 15 year career. The feat is even more impressive considering he’s now 36 years old and when considering the lack of supporting cast surrounding him in Phoenix.  Vince Carter………..please.

With the Suns a few years away from legitimately contending for an NBA Title, there have been rumors that the 7 time All Star could be moved this off-season in an effort to both improve the Suns and give Nash one final shot at winning a championship. Prior to the NBA Lockout, the Knicks and Suns were contemplating a swap of Chauncey Billups for Nash.

With the Lockout now in full swing, a number of NBA stars will be hitting your television screens this Summer to promote the latest products. Apparently Steve Nash is up first as he stars in the newest Toyota Prius commercial. He’s hilarious as usual when he cuts off an old lady in search for a parking spot at the mall, then morphs into Michael Jackson as he does the “Thriller” dance, then the moonwalk……….Funny stuff.
