Each week, we will be looking at the highlights of a different season from the illustrious 64 year history of the NBA. If for nothing else than to reminisce about seasons past. This week we will be looking back at the 1999-2000 NBA season. Each season has certain teams, players, and moments that make it unique from all others. With that being said, let’s take a look at what was happening in the league a little more than a decade ago.
Defending Champions
San Antonio Spurs: The Spurs won the 98-99 championship in the lock out shortened season by beating the Knicks in five games. Tim Duncan was named MVP of the Finals and David Robinson captured his first championship after a decade of playoff failures with the Spurs. The Spurs would lose in the first round of the 1999-2000 playoffs to the Phoenix Suns, with Tim Duncan sidelined due to a knee injury.

Writing all of this has conjured up many memories from the 1999-2000 season. At the time, I was a teenager growing up in California. Seeing as I was a California resident, I loved watching the Lakers win the championship that season. So, what memories do you have from the 99-00 season? Please share any memories and thoughts you have concerning the 99-00 season.
