What a luxury it is to have your star player go down with an injury and have players of the caliber of Andres Nocioni and Evan Turner to step in and fill the hole he leaves. Nocioni and Turner will be under greater pressure to produce statistically however in Iggy’s absence….
Philadelphia 76ers forward Andre Iguodala will not play against the Cavaliers because continued problems with his right Achilles’ tendon.
Iguodala has missed two other games this month with the strained tendon. He played Sunday night in a loss at San Antonio and made it through part of practice Monday before needing treatment.
Andres Nocioni will take Iguodala’s starting spot at small forward against the Cavs. Cleveland still doesn’t know if it will have center Anderson Varejao or guard Mo Williams. Both have injuries and a decision will be made at game time.
Iguodala is averaging 12.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.0 assists for the Sixers. Philadelphia has dropped three straight.
