Charles Barkley Flips Off TNT Crew On Live TV

April 7th, 2010 – Allen Moll

NBA legend and current Hall of Famer, Charles Barkley, has been entertaining viewers on TNT for more than 10 years now as a member of their on-air crew giving commentary on the National Basketball Association. Barkley, even during his playing days, is a walking sound-byte since he always wears his emotions on his sleeve and is prone to saying virtually anything at any given time.

We’ve featured a number of his comedic outbursts here on The Hoop Doctors like when he went one-on-one with Barney, questioned how painful childbirth really is for women, and when he denied that Paul Pierce is one of the Top 10 Greatest Celtics of all-time.

Chuck has often been the butt of many of the cast and crew’s jokes, most namely host Ernie Johnson and former NBA player, Kenny Smith. On every occasion, Barkley gets them back with some pretty hilarious one-liners that usually has the whole crew in stitches of laughter as they go to a commercial. One of those moments came recently during TNT’s NBA Tip-Off Show when Charles, Kenny, and Ernie were discussing Kobe Bryant’s injured finger when the converstion shifted towards how badly former NBA players’ joints and fingers sometimes get a bit deformed from the wear and tear of a long playing career.

Kenny was showing off his own somewhat disjointed digits when Barkley promptly slipped in the old, flip the bird move, on his television counterparts, while showing off his own fingers. Barkley gave a false apology as the rest of the crew had a sly look on their faces like this probably isn’t the first time Charles has flipped someone off while off the air on other occasions.
