I want to give a big shout out to our friends over at Stepien Rules for giving us the heads up about the 60 Minutes Interview this weekend with banned NBA referee Tom Donaghy. For those of you that don’t know him Tim Donaghy not only gave away insider information about players and teams, but he placed bets on the outcomes of regular season and playoff games that he was officiating.
After reviewing of game tapes the NBA ruled that Donaghy purposely made calls on key plays to help change the outcome of games in his favor. He was eventually jailed for his actions, but now that he’s out he’s in promotion mode to capitalize on the media circus that has surrounded his exhile from the NBA. Donaghy has recently written a book that has been published and is available now. I’m assuming 60 minutes is just the first of many stops on the Tim Donaghy farewell tour from the NBA.
