Lebron Channels Jordan’s Signature Shot In a Game [Video]

February 4, 2010 – Allen Moll

We all know that the great Michael Jordan was an inspiration to most of today’s NBA players. All of us as youngsters emulated MJ and even tried to pull of some of his signature moves on the playground. But how many of us actually had the athletic skills and manual dexterity to pull off one of those now famous plays?

Every now and then, some supremely talented college or professional player completes a play which one can only describe as Jordan-esque.

One of the select few players who possess the skills to even attempt to copy one of MJ’s moves is the reigning NBA MVP from last season, Lebron James.

In a game against the Memphis Grizzlies, Lebron was spectacular in a number of ways. Whether it was dropping a career high 15 assists or nearly leaping from the free throw line to swat OJ Mayo from behind, proving why once again he may wind up becoming the league’s MVP at season’s end.

But even more spectacular than the two aforementioned plays is his switch of the hands lay-up at the rim in the 1st quarter which is drawing comparisons to Michael Jordan’s signature shot over Sam Perkins in the 1991 NBA Finals.

While I think you all will agree that Jordan’s was better, Lebron’s attempt was at least close enough to draw comparisons to “His Airness'” now signature shot.
