Seton Hall Recruit Aquille Carr Arrested For Assault

August 19, 2012 – Allen Moll

As a prime time elite level HS hoops star who has already made his college decision, the time leading up to and during your senior year should be the best time of your life.  With the only pressures being keeping your grades above an acceptable level and enjoying your final season playing for your longtime home team high school, the world probably seems like it’s in the palm of your hand.

But that’s not the case of recent Seton Hall commit Aquille Carr, who although he stands barely 5’7 tall, is hands down one of the most electrifying players on any level of basketball.  After all, he did once score 50 points in a game as a sophomore and is known as having the best handles of anyone in the high school ranks.

But after finishing off his junior season by dunking his way to a Maryland State Title and showing out and breaking ankles at the 2012 Rebook Breakout Challenge, then things started to get a little weird.

In mid-Summer, the Baltimore native Carr unexplainably decides to transfer to the famed St Patrick’s HS in New Jersey, even though the school will be forced to close it’s doors prior to the Fall semester due to lack of funds.  Now comes word from the Baltimore Sun that Carr was arrested over the weekend for domestic assault, for allegedly kicking and punching his baby mama outside of a Baltimore gym.

Although the details are still sketchy, Carr was arrested Friday at 8 AM, just hours after participating in the Baltimore vs Team Under Armour Pro-Am Game where Portland rookie Will Barton now famously scored 72 points in a winning effort for B-More’s Finest.

According to the report, the 18 year old Carr assaulted Treshonda Williams, the 26 year old mother of his 5 month old child born in March 2012, after an argument where Carr reportedly threw her to the ground then proceeded to kick her in the back and punched her in the face before fleeing in his vehicle.

There’s no word yet if Carr’s recent infractions, which are reportedly only misdemeanors, will affect his supposed participation in the upcoming 2012 Under Armour Elite 24 Game next weekend.
