Video: Florida Recruits Chris Walker and Kasey Hill Amazing 5 Point Play

August 1, 2012 – Allen Moll

Being around the game of basketball for more than 30 years as a player, coach, and fan, I can honestly say that I’ve never seen something like what you are about to see in the clip below.  We’ve all heard of the rare occurance known as the 4 point play where a three point shooter gets fouled in the act of shooting, the ball goes in the basket and the shooter sinks the free throw.

But what future Florida Gators Chris Walker and Kasey Hill pulled off during an AAU game playing for Florida Elite recently would probably go down unofficially as the first ever 5 point play…….even though it didn’t count.  They get an A for effort and creativity though.

If you don’t already know, Chris Walker was one of the most sought after recruits in the 2013 Class as an ultra athletic 6’9 combo forward in the mold of former Kentucky Wildcat Terrence Jones, but with a bit more fire and ferociousness to his demeanor.  He recently committed to his hometown Florida Gators, making his very own announcement video, even doing the now famous Gator chomp.

Walker’s AAU teammate at point guard, the highly touted Kasey Hill, is also an elite level recruit that spurned several high major programs to play for Billy Donovan, giving “Billy the Kid” an outstanding jump on next season’s recruiting by nabbing two Top 10 recruits in the incoming senior HS class.

As for the clip, while one of the other Florida Elite players misses a breakaway dunk, Hill retrieves the ball from behind the 3 point line as Walker is running the baseline.  As hill launches the trey, Walker takes flight just in case his teammate misses.  But in a rare moment where everything just seems to fall into place, Hill’s shot goes in as Walker somehow grabs the ball in mid-air after it falls through the net and redeposits the rock for a faux 5 point play……too bad it doesn’t count.
