While it’s hard to choose just one, arguably Michael Jordan’s most memorable NBA moment came in a baseline drive against the rough and tumble NY Knicks, where he was seemingly cut off in the corner by John Starks and Charles Oakley, only to escape for a thunderous baseline jam over Patrick Ewing.
Over the past few seasons, all world point guard Derrick Rose has been doing a number of things in Chicago for the first time since the legendary MJ did them nearly 20 years ago like making the All Star team and winning league MVP.
During the Bulls opening day game against the Lakers on Christmas, Rose once again did something very similar to the former “Windy City” great. In addition to sinking the game winning shot in the final seconds to secure a win over Los Angeles, Rose made a baseline move on the Lakers’ eerily similar to the G.O.A.T.
After seemingly being sealed off in the left corner by former All Defensive Team selection Metta World Peace, Rose somehow escaped for a driving baseline layup over the outstretched arms of Kobe Bryant.
Ok, I’ll admit Rose’s move didn’t finish off as emphatically as Jordan’s, given it takes incredible athleticism to still get up for a dunk after shaking a couple defenders, but nonetheless still reminded me of the G.O.A.T. Watch and you be the judge…
