As long as the lockout continues, so will these charity games. Everyone is hosting one in the city they’re now currently tied to and they are for a good cause. While they have become somewhat watered-down at this point, when a certain number of stars align, it still makes for a good game. That was the case yesterday in Oklahoma City for Kevin Durant’s charity game.
The rosters were pretty impressive. Some of the guys that showed up were Kevin Durant (obviously), LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, James Harden, Jeff Green and we actually had a Russell Westbrook sighting this off-season. Contrary to what he normally does, KD didn’t lead the way in scoring. He ended up with a modest 42 points. LeBron had 40, Westbrook had 34 and Chris Paul had an amazing 25 assists. Many of those dimes went to Michael Beasley who stole the show in defeat by dropping a game-high 56 points.
As you can imagine, there wasn’t a whole lot of stifling defense being played because after all, it was a charity game. Durant’s team came away with the win 176 – 171 in overtime. Check out the top 10 plays from the game:
