On Monday we gave you the heads up that Washington DC based Goodman League would be taking a trip up I-95 to square off against Baltimore based Melo League at Morgan State University. Capital Punishment caused a buzz earlier this month, but this game boasted even more names. Key names for Melo were LeBron (32 pts.), Carmelo (27 pts.) and CP3 (16 pts.). Key names from Goodman were Kevin Durant, John Wall, Jeff Green and Brandon Jennings. Accounts from those at the game sounded as if it was 3-on-1 (LeBron, Carmelo and Paul vs. KD) for most of the game; as in LBJ, Melo and CP3 took turns scoring while Durant was doing it all by himself. But it wasn’t enough as Durant’s team lost 149 – 141.
Checkout some highlights from the game. Melo League is in green (LeBron wearing #10, Carmelo wearing # 30 and Chris Paul wearing #31) and Goodman League is in red (Durant wearing #22). Durant has been on a basketball tour this summer it seems like, and I’m sure this isn’t the last we’ll see of him. Although his team lost, this 59 points is in addition to 66 at Rucker as well.
