This news is upsetting to many a basketball fan around the world. Obviously it is unfortunate for DeAndre Liggins that he won’t be a part of the Cavaliers NBA championship defense in the 2017 NBA Playoffs, but the reason people are upset (including myself) is because of the player who could reportedly take his place: the first ballot hall of flopper Anderson Varejao.

While Varejao is a longtime Cavalier and may be welcomed back by Cleveland fans, especially because of his hustle and passion that he plays with on the court in short spurts, he also is one of the most aggravating players to watch in the NBA.
Please just watch this Anderson Varejao flopping compilation…
If the Cavaliers do re-sign him and we have another Cavaliers-Warriors NBA Finals match-up, Varejao would absolutely have to be the first player in any sport to play in three straight NBA Finals while having played for both teams. He became the first player in NBA history to play for both NBA Finals teams in one season last year.
Varejao was waived by the Warriors on February 3, after averaging 1.3 points and 1.9 rebounds per game in only 18 total minutes in the 2016-17 season.
