November 12, 2008 – Dr. Browntorious
A few days ago we showed you the Dwight Howard “The Commander” Video with the Basketball is a Brotherhood series. On TV you mostly get to see just a short clip of the video’s, so The Hoop Doctors are bringin’ it to you in full. Just over a week ago now we showed you the full Gilbert Arenas leg of the Basketball is a Brotherhood campaign.
What do y’all think about the vidz? I’m loving this new campaign where they are takin’ these young cats across the country to meet NBA stars and lettin’ them see the love and respect between NBA stars away from the game, even though they are direct competitors in the NBA season. I know we asked you in past posts about what the term “Basketball is a Brotherhood” meant to you, well that’s what B-is-B means to Doc Browntorious….it means away from the game you show your competitors respect for working hard to play the game just like you do. You gotta respect that your competitor probably puts in blood, sweat, and tears just like you do when you are workin’ on your game.
In this video, the Brotherhood travels to Houston to meet with Tracy McGrady and Tim Duncan. The Brotherhood clan grows in this one with a few new ballers from China. In the words of TMac….”We got guys from all over. You can come from Mars, it don’t matter.” If you ball, you are part of the brotherhood. The guys split up into teams and one half is coached by TMac and the other by Tim Duncan. And in TMac style his team hits a deep three at the final buzzer to win by a point and burn the Big Fundamental’s team. Looks like TMac won this coaching battle….
Check it out, and if you have been following along with these Brotherhood videos, you’ll notice the meaning of the Brotherhood seems to be evolving….stay tuned for the next edition in Boston with Kevin Garnett!
